We use an estimated 8.5 billion plastic straws every year in the UK. If each one is 20cm long, affixed end to end, they would stretch from the Earth to the Moon and back... Twice!
Although plastic straws are banned from April 2020 , Paper Straws are now doing the same job. They're better for the planet but that's still a hell of a lot of straws that need to be produced, each with it's own carbon footprint.

Take them with you when you head out and about. Request no straws and no plastic cutlery when you're at your favourite drive-through.
